The Naked Violin

Tasmin Little, from London, wants to draw more people to the sound of a solo violin. In 2008, a documentary focused on her project, "The Naked Violin" received high acclaim in England and led to workshops and recitals throughout the UK. On her website, www.tasminlittle.net, she offers free downloads of music by J.S.Bach, Paul Patterson and Eugène Ysaÿe. As part of her mission to share the sound of the violin, you are encouraged to download the works for your private use.

From her website: "As a concerto player, Tasmin's performances in the 2008/09 season took her back to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam where she gave the World Premiere of a violin concerto by Robin de Raaff, and she will return in 2010 to the Concertgebouw to premiere a concerto by Willem Jeths. Other performances in 2009 include concerts in Utrecht, Seattle, Katowice, Belfast, Ireland, Spain and a major tour of China, where she will continue her Naked Violin project as well as performing works from her new CD 'Partners in Time' with John Lenehan."

From March 6-14, Tasmin Little is in residency at the Seattle Symphony. Her next performances, as of this writing are at 7:30 p.m. March 12 and 8 p.m and March 14. For ticket information contact the Seattle Symphony at 206-215-4747.
